October 2006 - Added Italy Vacation Rentals, a company providing listings of Apartments, Farmhouses, Villas,and Hotels with descriptions, photos and rates. Added Cloud-Nine-Travel to the link list. This company books flights from UK airports to destinations world wide.

September 2006 - Added Purbeck Pathfinders, UK to the link list. A company leading treks in Dorset, England.

June 2006 - Added Nepal: Himalayan Respo Trek - a company developing treks specifically for seniors.

May 2006 - Added Fresco Tours, Spain, based in Bilbao, offers walking tours on Camino de Santiago, Andalucia, and Basque Country.

March 2006 - Added Bob's Hikes to the Link List in the Appendix. Bob's Hikes leads hikes in Marin County, featuring uncrowded trails, beaches and coastal vistas. Everything provided except your walking shoes.

January 2006 - Changed Explore Britain phone number, e-mail address, and web address. Added a "Southbounders" site about a movie about hiking the Appalachian Trail.

September 2005 - Added Black Ibex Expeditions, Mongolia, to the Appendix link list. This company organizes nature, cultural and adventure tours in Mongolia. Also added Oregon travel guide and hiking resource guide.

August 2005 - Added Celtic Trails to the Appendix link list. Celtic Trails organises walking holidays on the main UK National trails and coastal paths.

May 2005 - Added descriptions of trips along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia, and the Rogue River in Oregon.

March 2005 - Added FindCroatia.com and Duoshoes.com to the Appendix link list. Find Croatia is a travel directory service, which includes an active/outdoor section. Duoshoes is a shoes directory giving links to almost every shoe manufacturer you have ever heard of.

Mgrandcanyon.com A site with everything you could possibly want to know about visiting and exploring Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Escalante Canyon Outfitters. Offering walking trips in the canyon for hikers from 10 to 75 or so. Horses carry the gear. Aventuras Panama. A river running company specializing in the rivers of Panama. White Water Warehouse. Running the Rogue River in Southern Oregon. (see our write-up on our Rogue River trip). Find-Croatia. An information site on art,culture, museums, architecture, hotels, transport, and travel in Croatia. Discovery Car Hire New Zealand. An on-line car rental company for New Zealand.

December 2004 - Added Discovery Campervans Australia to the link list in the Appendix. This company books campervans on-line through their booking/quoting system.

October 2004 - Changed Gobi Expeditions Website per their request. Added an access counter to the index page.

August 2004 - Added Experience Bhutan Travel, a touring and trekking company in Bhutan, and Camping Tents Food and Gear, an equipment supplier for all outback activities: camping, backpacking,hiking, boat camping, kayaking and canoeing. Also added Adventures in Good Company, which offers worldwide active vacations for women of all ages. They have had an average age so far of 51, and an oldest participant who was 81. All added to the link list in the Appendix.

June 2004 - Added TurismoLab, an Italian touring services site for tourism and destination marketing, business consulting, professional development products, and an E-Zine tuR&Smo. Also added Travel Directory.org .uk covering many travel options, including walking and hiking listed under backpacking. Also added ACP-Direct.com an airport car park provider offering secure parking at every major UK airport. All sites added to the link list in the Appendix (appendix.htm).

February 2004 - Added O.A.R.S. to Appendix link list - O.A.R.S. has 35 years experience offering 1-22 day multi-sport, hiking, and rafting trips throughout the American West, Canada and beyond.

January 2004 - Added Good Earth Tours, a company in Austin, Texas specializing in tours in Africa.

December 2003 - added Navo-Tour, company in China to the link list in the Appendix; added boots-stick.com to the hike information section of the appendix. This is a discount outdoor equipment company featuring hiking boots and hiking sticks.

November 2003 - Added a description of an Elderhostel trip, (Summer 2003), to three Inns in Vermont. Not quite an Inn-to-Inn hike, but the participants did day hikes along the Vermont Long Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and climbed Mount Abraham. A great trip! March 2003 - Added Spanish Steps and Roman Roads to the Outdoor related links. The company runs trips in Italy. Changed the name of "Roads less traveled" to "The World Outdoors" in the Outdoor related links page. This company is in Boulder, Colorado.

May, 2002: Added Adventure Buddies link to the appendix. Adventure Buddies has produced a video on "Hiking Poles: Techniques and Tips for All Ages and Abilities". A principal of Adventure Buddies, Jayah Faye Paley, is giving a seminar on the use of hiking poles (high tech walking sticks), at Point Reyes National Seashore on August 9, 2002. Jayah is a Senior Exercise Specialist and a Hiking Pole Educator. Call Point Reyes at 415-663-1200 for information. The seminar is limited to 12 seniors, and costs only $25.

Added "TheTrail Master.com" to the link list. This is a site that you can browse to find hikes all over the USA.

Added Backroads, New England Hiking Holidays, Walking Adventrues International, Wanderweg Holidays, and The Wayfarers to the link list in the Appendix. All these companies offer walking trips for seniors.

Added Eastern & Southern Safaris to Appendix links. This is a company in Kenya running personalized tours.

April, 2002. Added "Escape SF Tours" to the Appendix. This is a new company running inn-to-inn hikes in northern California. Added a new category to the Appendix: Other Outings of Interest to Seniors. Put a link to an Alaska Salmon Fishing operator in the category. These people have been in business since 1979. Also added a trekking company in Bhutan: Bhutanpristine.com Put them with others in an Overseas Trekking Companies category.

November 1999: Information about two more companies that run inn-to-inn trips in the USA,(and Canada): Wonder Walks, and American Wilderness Experience. These companies run trips in Colorado, Montana, New Hampshire, Vermont, and in Alberta, Canada. The latter is in the Jasper National Park, a magnificent part of the Canadian Rockies.
